Yelani Plant Based Hair Product Review
I am always curious to find new products that will work for my hair. Yelani is a natural hair product line that is plant-based. I have never used a plant-based hair product before and was eager to try it out. The following products I received were a shampoo, a leave-in conditioner, and a hot oil treatment. All of the products I received came in 8-ounce bottles.
MOISTURE BLAST CONDITIONING SHAMPOO
The first product I used was the Yelani’s Moisture Blast Conditioning Shampoo. This shampoo consistency was creamy. The smell was very appealing to my senses. It gave me a desire to taste it. However, I resisted and proceeded to place the product in my hair. The directions on the shampoo stated to apply a generous amount. I complied with that directive.
As I placed the shampoo in my hair I noticed that there was no foam or suds. I massaged the shampoo throughout my scalp and hair. My hair was very shiny and the shampoo felt very moisturizing. I rinsed the shampoo out with cold water. Since the shampoo does not create suds you may be more inclined to use a whole lot more. The disclaimer does encourage you to use a generous amount. But the magic comes from not looking at the suds but masaging the product into your hair. This shampoo contains Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, which is good for moisturizing your hair. This ingredient also promotes hair growth.
HOT OIL TREATMENT
Once I finished washing and deep conditioning my hair, I decided to use Yelani Hot Oil Treatment. Per the directions, I squeezed the oil throughout my hair. The directions on the bottle stated to let the product sit on your hair from 5 to 30 minutes under the dryer. I decided to sit for 10 minutes. The hot oil treatment consists of grape seed, olive oil, and castor oil. This combination worked fine for me. The directions stated that hot oil treatment could be used on wet or dry hair. My hair was wet when I used it.
LEAVE IN CONDITIONER
The disclaimer on the Yelani Leave-In Conditioner product states that you can use this product on wet or dry hair. I used it while my hair was dry. This product also contains Aloe Barbadensis leaf juice which is a definite plus. This product comes in a spray bottle. It sprays on light. My hair became soft and moisturized and still felt light. It doesn’t have a sweet fragrance but it does the job well.
WHAT IS MY RATING / RECOMMENDATION?
The pros of this line of products are that the products are organic. These products are available at health food stores. They do exactly what they are supposed to do. The thing that stands out the most is the price. The product size for the three products I got were approximately 8 ounces each. The con for this line of products is the cost which is pretty high considering the amount of product received. The shampoo and leave in conditioner must be stored in the refrigerator. All of these products are listed as sulfate, paraben, and colorant free. Overall, I would recommend this product line to others. On a scale of one to five with five being the highest, I give it a four.
